The Oregon Governor’s Advisory Group on Global Warming prepared the Oregon Strategy for Greenhouse Gas Reductions in 2004. It makes the following projections for GHG emissions in a business-as-usual scenario (MMTCO2E):
This nearly 60% increase in GHG emissions is primarily predicted to come from carbon dioxide, which is predicted to comprise 85% of total GHG emissions in 2025.
The advisory group set the following goals to avoid the business-as-usual scenario:
- 10% below 1990 emissions by 2020
- 75% below 1990 emissions by 2050
